Jinnee Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Jinnee App (“Jinnee”), you confirm that you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, and that the registration information you have provided is accurate and complete.
  • Have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy.
  • Will use Jinnee in accordance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Will not use Jinnee for any unlawful or harmful purposes, including harassment, abuse, impersonation, or fraud.
  • Have not been convicted of a felony, sex-related crime, or any offense involving violence, threats, exploitation, or the endangerment of others.
  • Are not a registered sex offender in any country, state, or legal system.
  • Are not currently under investigation for any criminal activity that would make your presence on a dating platform unsafe for others.

Agreeing to these Terms, you are also agreeing to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. User Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

As a user of Jinnee, you are solely responsible for how you use the platform and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password, email, and verification data (e.g., voice or facial ID, if applicable).

By using Jinnee, you agree to act respectfully, responsibly, and lawfully within the community.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts of users who are found to have provided false information, violated these terms, or whose presence poses a risk to the community.

By creating or using an account on Jinnee, you agree that you will not:

  • Create a false identity or profile for deceptive purposes.
  • Impersonate any person, public figure, company, or entity.
  • Use another person's photos, voice, or information without explicit consent.
  • Use Jinnee to engage in or promote illegal activity, including but not limited to fraud, scams, or trafficking.
  • Share, upload, or distribute explicit content involving minors, non-consensual nudity, or revenge content.
  • Encourage or facilitate self-harm, violence, or criminal behavior through the platform.
  • Solicit for money, gifts or engage in fraud or scams.
  • Send threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or hate-based messages to other users.
  • Engage in stalking, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact.
  • Use offensive language, slurs, or inappropriate sexual content in chats, bios, or profile names.
  • Attempt to hack, modify, or disrupt Jinnee's infrastructure, servers, or systems.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access, extract, or spam the platform.
  • Engage in reverse engineering, code injection, or other unauthorized modifications to the app.
  • Collect or store personal information about other users without their consent.
  • Use Jinnee to promote commercial content, multi-level marketing, spam, or third-party advertising unless explicitly authorized.
  • Attempt to manipulate the AI-based matching system.
  • Abuse features (e.g., reporting, blocking, or matching) in bad faith.
  • Create multiple or fake accounts to exploit platform features or deceive users.

Consequences of Violations

  • Temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
  • Removal of content or profile data without notice.
  • Reporting to legal authorities if the violation includes criminal or harmful activity.
  • Ban of device or IP address to prevent future misuse.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any user who is found to be in breach of these terms, with or without prior notice.

3. Payments, Subscriptions & Refund Policy

i. Free vs. Premium Features

  • Free Membership: Grants users access to core functionalities such as profile creation, viewing limited matches, and participating in basic interactions.
  • Premium Membership: Unlocks enhanced features such as unlimited matches, profile visibility boosts, advanced filter options, advanced access to “Who Liked your profile”, and priority support.

Premium features are subject to change or expansion at the company's discretion.

ii. Billing & Payment Processing

  • All payments on Jinnee are processed securely through trusted third-party providers (e.g., Google Play, Apple App Store, or Stripe).
  • Subscription plans are clearly presented with applicable pricing, duration, and billing frequency before you confirm your purchase.
  • When you make a purchase or subscribe to a premium plan, you authorize us to charge the specified amount to your selected payment method.
  • Recurring billing applies for subscription-based services unless you cancel prior to the renewal date.

iii. Renewals & Cancellation

  • Premium subscriptions are set to automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled by the user.
  • You may cancel your subscription anytime via your device's app store or directly through Jinnee (if available).
  • Cancelling a subscription prevents future charges but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.

iv. Refunds

  • All payments are considered final and non-refundable, including partially used periods, unless required by law.
  • Refunds for accidental purchases, dissatisfaction, or unused time are generally not permitted.
  • In rare or exceptional cases (e.g., confirmed technical failures or unauthorized charges), you may contact our support team to request a review. Granting a refund remains at our sole discretion.

v. Billing Disputes

  • If you believe you have been incorrectly charged or experience a billing error, please contact Jinnee Support immediately at support@jinnee.org
  • Filing a dispute with your bank or payment provider without contacting us first may result in temporary suspension of your account while the issue is investigated.

vi. Currency & Taxes

  • Prices are displayed in your local currency where applicable and may include taxes or service fees depending on your region.
  • You are responsible for any local duties, taxes, or financial transaction fees imposed by your country or financial institution.

vii. Modifications to Pricing or Services

  • Jinnee reserves the right to change subscription pricing or premium feature availability at any time. If changes affect an active subscription, you will be notified in advance and given the option to continue or cancel.
  • Price changes will not retroactively apply to an already active billing cycle but will take effect at the next renewal.

4. User Content & Privacy

i. User-Generated Content

  • Profile photos
  • Biographies or prompts
  • Voice or facial data (if provided for verification)
  • Messages, emojis, or other interactions with other users

You acknowledge that you are the sole owner of all content you submit or post through the platform.

ii. License to Use Content

  • By submitting or uploading content, you grant Jinnee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and revocable license to display, use, and share your content within the app as intended.

iii. Content Visibility

  • Your profile information may be visible to other users depending on your privacy settings.
  • Personal communications are private and encrypted, unless reported for violations.

iv. Content Moderation & Community Safety

  • We reserve the right to review, moderate, or remove any content that violates our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines.
  • Repeat violations may result in account suspension or permanent removal.

v. Privacy of Shared Information

  • We do not sell or publicly disclose your content or personal information. All data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, and only shared as required by law, to investigate potential violations, or with service providers under strict confidentiality.

vi. User Responsibility

  • You are solely responsible for the content you upload or share and ensuring you have the right to use any image, text, or voice data.
  • Avoid uploading content that violates the rights or safety of others.

vii. Revoking Content Access

  • You may request to delete or remove your profile and content from Jinnee at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your content from public visibility and retain only the data necessary to comply with legal or security obligations.

5. Safety & Liability Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no representations or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the Services. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.

Jinnee is designed to help users connect meaningfully, but we do not take responsibility for how users interact with one another, whether online or in person. You are solely responsible for the choices you make while using the platform, including any information you share and who you decide to meet.

While Jinnee may offer optional features such as profile verification, voice recognition, or photo checks, we do not guarantee the accuracy, honesty, or safety of any user's identity or intentions. Jinnee does not conduct criminal background checks, nor do we verify the personal histories of our users unless explicitly stated.

All interactions whether through messaging, calls, or real-life meetups, are at your own discretion and risk. We strongly advise meeting in public, informing a trusted friend or family member beforehand, and exercising caution when sharing personal or financial details.

Jinnee does not monitor or organize offline meetings and is not liable for any outcomes resulting from such interactions. We are not responsible for any injury, emotional harm, financial loss, or disputes that arise from your communications or relationships formed through the platform.

While we provide tools to report or block users who engage in harmful or inappropriate behavior, we do not guarantee a resolution in every case. The safety features we offer are meant to support you, but they do not replace personal responsibility and awareness.

By using Jinnee, you acknowledge that you are engaging with others at your own risk and that Jinnee is not responsible for any consequences resulting from those interactions.

6. Termination & Account Deletion

Jinnee reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms of use, our Community Guidelines, or any applicable laws. This includes, but is not limited to, cases involving harassment, impersonation, fraudulent behavior, abuse, or any activity that threatens the safety or experience of other users.

We also reserve the right to remove any content that we, at our sole discretion, consider to be in violation of our rules, harmful to others, or damaging to the platform.

You may delete your Jinnee account at any time by accessing the account settings within the app. Upon deletion, your profile will be removed from public visibility, and your content will be deactivated or permanently erased unless retention is required by law or for security purposes.

Account deletion is permanent and may result in the loss of all your data, messages, matches, and settings. If you choose to return to Jinnee after deleting your account, you will be required to create a new profile.

By continuing to use Jinnee, you accept and understand these terms regarding account termination and data removal.

7. Indemnification

All the actions you make and information you post on Jinnee remain your responsibility. Therefore you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jinnee, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another or in connection with:

  • Any negligence acts, omissions or willful misconduct by you;
  • Your access to and use of the App;
  • The uploading or submission of Content to the App by you;
  • Any breach of these Terms by you; and/or
  • Your violation of any law or any rights of any third party.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Nigeria.

9. Changes to Terms

Jinnee reserves the right to modify, update, or revise these Terms of Use at any time, in whole or in part, to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or business practices. Any updates will be effective immediately upon being posted within the app or on our official website, unless otherwise stated.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes, which may include in-app alerts, email notifications, or banners within the platform. However, it is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

By continuing to access or use Jinnee after any changes to these Terms have been made, you are indicating your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue use of the platform and delete your account.
