Community Guidelines

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to JINNEE! Our goal is to create a safe, fun, and authentic community where Nigerians can connect and build meaningful relationships. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we have established these Community Guidelines. By using our app, you agree to abide by these rules. Violating these guidelines may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent ban from the platform.

1. RESPECT AND COURTESY

• Treat others with the same respect and kindness you expect in return.
• We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, bullying, stalking, or any form of intimidation. Do not send unsolicited explicit photos, use hateful language, or engage in any behavior that makes another user feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
• If a user expresses they are not interested, respect their decision and do not continue to contact them. Unwanted advances or persistent messaging will be considered harassment.
• Nigeria is a diverse nation with a rich tapestry of cultures, religions, and tribes. Be mindful and respectful of these differences. Avoid making derogatory comments about a user's ethnicity, tribe, religion, or background.

2. AUTHENTICITY AND HONESTY

• Authenticity is key to building trust and genuine connections.
• Your profile should accurately represent who you are. Do not use fake photos, create a fake identity, or impersonate another person.
• Using fake profiles to deceive others is strictly prohibited. If you are caught catfishing, you will be permanently banned.
• All information on your profile, including your age, location, and relationship status, should be truthful.
• To maintain the integrity of our community, each person is allowed to have only one profile.

3. AVOID SPAM AND SCAMS

• No sending of spam, mass messages, or irrelevant promotions.
• Do not use the App for commercial purposes (advertising, selling products, recruiting e.t.c).
• Never ask other users for money, financial help or favors.
• Watch out for phishing links, fake stories or schemes and report them immediately.

4. SAFETY AND SECURITY

• Your safety is our top priority.
• For your own safety, never share your full name, home address, phone number, financial details, or other sensitive information in your profile or public chats. We strongly recommend moving to a private chat or meeting in a public place once you feel comfortable.
• If you encounter any user who violates these guidelines, report them immediately using the in-app reporting feature. Provide as much detail as possible to help us investigate the issue.
• Be cautious of users who ask for money, financial assistance, or personal information. Report any suspicious activity. Our team works diligently to identify and remove scammers from the platform.
• When you decide to meet someone in person, always do so in a public, well-lit place. Inform a friend or family member of your plans, including the location and the time you expect to return. Trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, it probably is.

5. CONTENT AND BEHAVIOUR

• The content you share and your behaviour on the app must be appropriate and respectful.
• Do not post or share any nude or sexually explicit photos, videos, or messages. This includes soliciting or sending lewd content.
• We do not tolerate any form of hate speech, including but not limited to, racism, tribalism, sexism, homophobia, or religious intolerance.
• Do not promote, engage in, or discuss any illegal activities, including but not limited to, drug use, human trafficking, or terrorism.
• The app is for personal connections, not for business. Do not use the platform to promote your business, sell products, or engage in any form of commercial activity without prior authorization.

6. AGE AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

• You must be at least 18 years old to use this app. By creating a profile, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
• You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations.

7. REPORTING & ENFORCEMENT OF GUIDELINES

• You can report user who violates these guild lines via the app's reporting function.
• Our moderation team actively reviews profiles and reports. We may take the following actions for violations:
  • A temporary notice to correct your behaviour.
  • Temporary suspension of your account.
  • Permanent removal from the app.
• We reserve the right to remove any content or user that we deem, in our sole discretion, to be in violation of these guidelines or harmful to our community.
